At Adoption SF, we are proud of the fact that nearly half of the families we work with are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families. Though there are states that prohibit LGBT families from adopting, happily, that is not the case in California. LGBT families are an invaluable resource for the many children and youth in foster care awaiting an adoptive family. They often bring unique strengths to meet their special needs.

Our vision is for a world where every woman in a crisis pregnancy is fully informed and ethically treated, where every hopeful adoptive parent demands a process that ensures any child coming to a family comes as the result of strict following of the laws and as the best of best options available, that the rights of every adopted child have been protected along each step of the journey, and that the hope of a family remains for the children of the world who have no others.

Family Builders believes that every child has the right to grow up in a permanent loving family, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, medical, physical or emotional condition. We educate the community about the needs of children waiting in foster care, advocate on their behalf, and place children with permanent, secure families through adoption and other forms of permanence.

Pact is a non-profit organization with a primary mission to serve children of color in need of adoption or who are growing up in adoptive families. In every case, the child is our primary client. We believe that to serve the child we must support and serve his or her adoptive parents by offering the very best resources to help them cope with a world whose attitudes too often reflect "adoptism" and racism.
