Pride

The year 2020 has been like no other: the violence and immorality of structural racism have reached a breaking point, and the protracted reckoning continues to unfold alongside dramatically re-calibratred daily life in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. LGBTQ+ pride celebrations look very different, and perhaps even mean new things to many of us.

But at their core, they've always provided us an opportunity to lift up and celebrate our communities, and that's what we've been doing this year – virtually and vigorously.

In June, for San Francisco's LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, we held "Pride Inside," a weekend of live, family-friendly programming. Now, for Oakland's LGBTQ+ Pride – "Celebration-In-Place" – we're extending the celebration over the course of a whole week.
