Anneke is an OFC Programs Intern. They are expected to graduate from SFSU in May 2025 with a BA in Sociology and minor in Sexuality Studies. Anneke was born and raised in San Jose and has lived in San Francisco for two years, and is part of the local LGBTQ+ community. They have experience with various social service and community engagement organizations in the San Francisco area (such as the SF LGBT Center, SF Aids Foundation, Planned Parenthood, Huckleberry Youth Programs, and Family Connections Centers).
Anneke is an advocate for DEI, comprehensive public health education, harm reduction, reproductive justice, and legislative policy protecting the rights of all. They are passionate about public health education and resources, and dedicated to working with service organizations that center and uplift underserved populations within their community. Anneke is driven to help realize their vision of a world in which everyone has their needs met and the opportunity to thrive. Anneke is deeply grateful to be working with OFC, where they are gaining hands-on experience with the internal workings of nonprofit organizations- helping with data entry for grant deliverables, coordinating and facilitating community engagement programming, and helping towards some of our advocacy and policy efforts, and they hope to continue working in this field.
Outside of work, Anneke enjoys yoga and meditation, live music, and walking around the city practicing their amateur street photography.
