Shane’s career began with Marriage Equality, working to block state constitutional amendments intended to ban same-sex marriage in California and Maine, and organizing 250,000 marchers for the National Equality March in Washington DC. Shane is passionate about queer power and has worked with California Young Democrats, Courage Campaign, and Human Rights Campaign to run local queer programs and enable our communities to be powerful in politics.
With 16 years of experience in political organizing, digital strategy, and brand marketing, they’ve brought major brands online and ran global campaigns for the Malala Fund, TED Talks, Al Jazeera, Change.org, and Google.org. Their work has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, and Bloomberg Businessweek, and the Wall Street Journal.
Shane is passionate about helping brands tell their stories in ways that bring tangible change to their communities both locally and nationally. Shane founded Diverge, a company that utilizes emerging technologies to amplify progressive messaging, and Project SAFE, an international nonprofit. Their greatest pride is their 1 year old daughter and the joy of building their family.
